Using the cyber.mu API
Everything here applies to every dataset in the catalog — read this once, then self-serve. No account and no API key: fetch a URL, get JSON or CSV back.
Getting started
Every dataset's JSON endpoint is linked from the catalog table on the api.cyber.mu homepage. Fetch it directly with any HTTP client — no auth header, no query parameters, no API key required.
JSON & CSV conventions
Every JSON view-model and CSV export follows the same conventions: dates and timestamps are ISO-8601 (UTC for timestamps); text is UTF-8; a missing value is a JSON null or a blank CSV field, never 0 or the literal string "None"; CSV files always carry a header row, even with zero data rows, with \n line endings and stable column names and order.
Embedding a widget
Each widget is one self-contained HTML file — paste its <iframe> snippet as-is (fixed width/height, no external requests, safe inside a sandboxed iframe or a strict CSP). Every widget carries its own visible cyber.mu backlink and "as of" date; please keep both when you embed one. See embed snippets on the catalog
Rate limits & politeness
No API key, no account, no enforced rate limit — every endpoint is a static file served from a cache-friendly static origin. Please cache aggressively and avoid re-fetching a URL more often than its own Cache-Control header allows; if you need a higher-frequency feed, or have an objection to how your traffic is being handled, contact us. Licensing & attribution
Every dataset below is public data mirrored with attribution, not a data product we own — keep the attribution and a link back when you reuse or embed it. Full per-dataset detail (JSON endpoint, formats, description) is on the catalog.
